HS2 South Ruislip Dewatering

Pipeline were awarded the HS2 South Ruislip dewatering works, which involved installing two parallel water pipelines (PE100 black, SDR 11, internal diameter 205 mm, external diameter 250 mm), each 560 m in length, to support the dewatering operations at the South Ruislip Vent Shaft.
The project presented a unique set of challenges, including working in close proximity to live rail lines, meeting a time-critical delivery schedule, and managing difficult and unaccommodating ground conditions.
To overcome these challenges, the team followed a robust safe system of work, applied best-practice safety procedures, and ensured appropriate resourcing with qualified and experienced personnel. The necessary equipment and materials were delivered at the right time to mitigate on site challengers to ensure progress and efficiency.
The project was successfully completed within budget and within the planned programme, with no compromise on quality, and with safety maintained throughout the works.
